Once your registration is complete, you’re welcome to send us songs.
To submit songs, write an email to team @ filksongbook.com (remove the spaces), and attach up to 3 ChordPro files.
(This limit helps keep individual “chunks” manageable for us as the curation team.)
Please make sure beforehand that the files conform to the required format (see also ChordPro Cheat Sheet & Curation Cheat Sheet)!
If you don’t play an accompanying instrument and therefore have difficulty identifying the correct chords: please ask a friendly member of the filk community who plays such an instrument for help before you submit. On the “Filkerei!” Discord there’s a dedicated channel for this. 🙂
As the subject line of your email, please use:
– [Submission] Song title ← if you’re submitting only one song
or
– [Submission] Song title + 2 songs ← for multiple songs (up to 3!)
Please list the titles of all the songs you’re submitting that aren’t in the subject line in the email body – this makes finding and assigning them to a curation team member easier. (Our mailbox is sometimes very busy.)
As soon as someone from the curation team has gotten around to looking at your submission, you’ll receive feedback from us.
(Please be patient with us. We only do this in our free time. Depending on the volume of submissions, it may take a while. If you haven’t heard from us after a month or so, feel free to ask. If hearing back takes too long for your liking – maybe you’d like to join the curation team? :-))
