Before we can host your songs, please copy the following into an email, fill in the data asked for in the upper section, and send it to us to register with Open Filk Songbook!

To prevent collecting societies from issuing cease and desist orders against us, we need registrations of all lyricists before a Chordpro file can be hosted. (Sheet music will come later. For these, we’ll need registrations of the composers.)

If any of the information changes later (e.g., GEMA objection), please simply send us the form again and add [Update] to the subject line.

If you only want to download songs, you do not need to register—that works without registration!

By submitting my lyrics and/or sheet music on the platform Open Filk Songbook (filksongbook.com), I declare:

  1. Authorship
    I certify that I possess the necessary rights to all submitted content and that its publication does not violate any third-party rights. My author’s rights remains unaffected.

  2. Licensing
    The usage permissions of each song are determined by the {c:License…} entry in the respective file.
    If such an entry is missing, the most current version of the Filksongbook Minimal License at the time of submission automatically applies (currently https://filksongbook.com/info/minimal-license-1-0).

  3. Hosting
    I grant Open Filk Songbook the right to store my submitted content on the platform and make it publicly available.

  4. Format
    I certify that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, the content I have uploaded complies with the required format specifications for submitted songs.
  5. Data Protection
    I confirm that I have taken note of the Data Protection Notice and consent to the processing of my personal data as specified therein. I am aware that I can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.
