You decide which name you want to use when you publish your songs with us!
Most likely, this will be the name other filkers know you by (e.g., because you usually use it as your badge name at filk cons). It can also be a combination like First name "Pseudonym" Last name – we only ask that you use the same name format for all your submissions here that are associated with that name. (I.e., if you previously went by a different name, you can split things up accordingly, if desired – get in touch how best to handle Prince/TAFKAP situations).
Please:

- Provide this name during the registration process in the “Filk Name” field in exactly the form you want to use it later in your songs.
- Use the same name in all the files you upload (for
{artist:}and in the credits. In the file names too. But if you use a combination of pseudonym and legal name, then in the file name please use only the pseudonym, so they don’t get too long). (Note: see above for name transitions). - If you use your legal name (or a name that sounds like one), please always provide it in the order “First name Last name”.
If you want to change your filk name later for any reason, please contact us and let us know – and also tell us how we should handle your previously submitted songs. We can rename all your past submissions to your new name, or keep the old name if you request it. We absolutely respect your decision and will act according to your wishes.
